A. W. & C. Barsby:  Legal Research and Publishing
Who are we and what do we do?
A. W. & C. Barsby are legal writers and publishers - we research into, write about and publish on the law. We are also active in speaking at conferences, and assisting with Alternative Dispute Resolution. Our address is Barnwell Farm, Station Road, Marsh Gibbon, Bicester, Bucks, OX27 0HN. Tel: 01869 278390; e-mail: post@barsby.com. Both A. W. and C. Barsby and non-practising barristers. They are regulated by the General Council of the Bar and in relation to professional matters subject to its Code of Conduct. Andrew Barsby is also an Accredited Mediator.
Our books are practical guides to the law of England and Wales. They are written mainly for members of the public who want to understand the law in some detail.   For lawyers and other professionals they are useful summaries of the law, and also a source of references to legislation, case law and other materials.
Please remember that material on this site is for use only with our books, and is made available on the same terms as material in our books - it is not intended as a substitute for legal advice and liability cannot be accepted for errors or omissions.
Bar Direct We are delighted to announce that we have been granted a licence by the General Council of the Bar - the body which regulates barristers - under the Bar Direct scheme. This means that we can approach Counsel (practising barristers) directly for advice, without having to engage solicitors first. The Bar Direct scheme will enable us to obtain help on difficult questions of law, and so maintain the high quality of our books.
Data Protection. The personal information we hold is subject to the Data Protection Act 1998. We are regulated by the Information Commissioner, and our registration number is Z6891565.
