Legal publishing

Should you be in print?

To authors in search of a publisher for a legal text, we offer a unique combination of legal and technical skills.

As lawyers we are familar with the language and institutions of the law, are thus well-placed to handle the process of turning legal writing into print, ironing out the inevitable glitches and spotting inconsistencies and omissions.

At the same time we are well-versed in the specialised software which enables books to be constructed, with tables, cross-references, list of authorities, and indexes, ready for digital printing.

Many well-known legal books have surprisingly short print-runs - but are nonetheless commercial propositions. The fact that a legal book will have a relatively small market is not a bar to success. We believe that every book is different, and that the right starting point is an individually-negotiated agreement between author and publisher which sets their respect profit shares in the light of all the relevant factors, such as length, design, price, and likely sales.

If you have a project in mind, please get in touch - we'll happy to discuss it with you in confidence and without obligation.
