The second edition of our book Caravan Sites and Mobile Home Parks: The Legal Framework (2nd ed.), published in October 2001, is the standard guide to the law, used by occupiers of caravans and park homes, site owners, local government, and lawyers and other professionals. The book deals fully with this specialised area of the law. It covers:

• The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960.
• The Caravan Sites Act 1968.
• The Mobile Homes Act 1983.

The 1960 Act is concerned with the licensing of caravan sites and mobile home parks; the 1968 and 1983 Acts provide a degree of security for some occupiers of caravans and mobile homes.

The text is fully supported with references to cases and legislation, and in addition to the above Acts it covers contracts and leasing of caravans, the powers of local authorities, and relevant aspects of the civil and criminal law.

Revisions made for the second edition include a full treatment of the important subject of pitch fee reviews and a new chapter on gypsies.

Provisions in the Housing Act 2004 make important changes to the law and give park home owners greater protection.
